The Asian/Irish Cultural Festival Bray 2017

The Asian/Irish Cultural Festival Bray is making its third annual appearance this Sunday, 11th June 2017 hosted in the Harbour Bar, Bray, Co. Wicklow. The family friendly event will be showcasing the diversity, multiculturalism and integration between Irish, Asian and all communities in Bray!

There will be a feature of traditional Japanese dancing from a group of performers called Odorikko dedicated to introducing traditional; dancing and culture to Ireland and traditional Sean-Nos dancing, St. Brigid’s Cross by Maureen Roberts making workshop, demonstrations of Aikido. Katori-Shinto-Ryu will introduce Martial arts.There will be Asian and Irish food stalls and fashionable samples of the traditional dress of the Philippines and Japan, as well as a detailed demonstration on how to wear a Yukata. There will also be performances from the Filipino community and Seoidín will play traditional Irish music, while Oisín Mac will rap as Gaeilge.

It is safe to say this event will be both exciting and enjoyable for everyone. This year, Glór na nGael will be amongst them, promoting the Irish language. Audiences can look forward to a dynamic Irish/Chinese language exchange, with Giggles the Clown (An Fear Grinn) entertaining younger festival goers.
