Christ Church Cathedral is one of Dublin’s oldest buildings and a place of pilgrimage for over 1,000 years. It was founded by Sitiuc, Norse King of Dublin in 1030 and it was incorporated into the Irish Church in 1152.The cathedral is worth a visit for its exquisite floor tiles, architecture and its famous 12th Century crypt, one of the oldest in Ireland and Britain, which hosts an exhibition of rare manuscripts and historic artifacts.Christ Church is also renowned for hosting the first performance of Handel’s Messiah.

Guinness, the flagship brand of Irish beers known all over the world, has had its own museum in Dublin since 2000. After its closure, the renovation began to transform the place into a museum retracing the history of the brand (from its creation to advertising, including the evolution of the bottles, its creator…), the ingredients used and the stages of manufacture of this legendary beverage worldwide. The highlight of the visit is the panoramic bar, the Gravity Bar, in which all visitors are entitled to a Guinness or a soda while enjoying a splendid view of all Dublin. A must-see!

Find out what it would have been like to be imprisoned in this Irish “bastion of punishment and correction” between 1796, when it opened, and 1924, when it closed its doors. A guided tour of Kilmainham Prison (Kilmainham Gaol, in Irish), one of the largest unoccupied prisons in Europe, provides an overview of recent Irish political history and the Irish rebellion. Prison reveals a lot. This is a popular excursion: you can’t buy your tickets in advance, they are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s a good idea to arrive early.

Built in the late 18th century, the Farmleigh House was purchase in 1873 by a great-grandson of Arthur Guinness in 1873 becoming one of the Dublin residences of the Guinness Family. The house is a fine example of Georgian-Victorian architecture. It contains many beautiful features such as the Main House, the Clock Tower, the Lake and the Library. This latter one holds some of the finest examples of Irish bookbinding from the last three centuries.

The Garden of Remembrance was inaugurated by President Eamon de Valera in 1966 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Easter Uprising.It is a small park built in memory of all those who lost their lives in the struggle for Irish independence.
