More fatalities expected in German bus accident

A bus crashed into a lorry on the A9 motorway in South Germany on Monday morning. The accident took place near Stammbach in North Bavaria where the coach burst into flames after the collision. However, it is still not clear what caused the collision between two vehicles.

There were 46 passengers and 2 drivers present in the bus when the accident took place. As per the information received so far 31 people are reported to be injured, several seriously, and 17 are missing. There are fears that this number is not final – several others could have died too.

A police spokesman said that they are expecting some more fatalities.Emergency workers and several helicopters are engaged in the rescue operation, while the motorway has been blocked by police.
