One of the coolest spots in Dublin for a late night bevvy is Yamamori Izakaya (aka Izakaya Basement). Located in the hubbub of South George’s Street, Izakaya offers some delicious sake cocktails, a mix of asian beers and local brews on tap, sick beats and a back alley smoking area painted to look like the back alley behind a bar in Tokyo. Bonus: there’s a beer vending machine in the smoking area so you can grab a drink while you’re outside! (plus it takes card)

This ‘Brooklyn meets Berlin-style dive bar’ is all you could ask for from a late-night boozy haunt. With premium drinks and retro-inspired cocktails, pool tables upstairs, and DJ’s down below, there’s a spot for everybody at r.i.o.t. In addition to pool, patrons can also play some other bar classics like jumbo jenga, beer pong, and an assortment of board games. If you’re looking for a funky-fresh late-night bar, this is the spot for you!

For all my artsy/indie kids out there, you have to check out The Workman’s Club if you haven’t already. This infamous spot located just by the Liffey in Temple Bar, has played host to a number of world-renowned acts such as Father John Misty, Little Green Cars, Kodaline, and more! As awesome as the tunes are here, the Workman’s Bar isn’t just known for awesome music. It’s also home to one of Dublin’s best clubs, some of the best comedy in the city, as well as new band showcases! Definitely a bar worthy of a late-night visit.

One of Ireland’s most famous and well loved venues since 1989, Whelans has established itself as a kingpin of late-night drinking and merriment in Dublin. Located on Wexford Street, Whelans has hosted a number of international acts including Ed Sheeran, Jeff Buckley, and Arctic Monkeys. Additionally, this late night hub offers some of the coolest indie club nights from Thursday to Saturday starting at 10:30 pm. Highly recommend this late-night joint

For a ~classy~ late-night libation, hit up 37 Dawson Street and treat yourself to one of 37 different Irish Whiskeys (served in crystal no less). If you’re not in the mood for a wee dram, you can always ask for your glass with a light, refreshing mixer or an elegant cocktail to sip on while relaxing in this lush, eclectic bar. This is one of the more romantic spots on our list, so if the dates going well and you’re not quite ready to go home, head to 37 Dawson street to keep the romance flowing. Bonus: Music is either tunes from baby grand piano or some funky background tracks.

Next on our top 13 late night bars is one of the funkiest spots in town.
4 Dame Lane is a venue spread over two floors, hidden away on Dame Lane just down from the George. This is one of the coolest spots in town, featuring some of Dublin’s best DJ’s busting out indie/electro-pop tunes at ‘The Beat Suite’ nights every Friday and Saturday. If you can’t make it here for the weekend, no worries! There’s a 2 for €12 offer on selected cocktails from Sunday to Thursday, as well as an awesome selection of craft beers to enjoy any time of the week. Bonus: the loft has ping pong and foosball tables.

Situated at the very top of Hang Dai’s Camden Street location is one of the most luxurious spots in our top 13 late-night bars- seriously, it’s called Gold Bar for a reason. People it here, not only for the unique ambience, but also the cocktails are absolutely class and you have access to the full menu downstairs till the kitchen closes. A night at the Gold Bar is one to remember (depending on how many cocktails you order) especially with the class sound system designed by Cork-based soundsystem maker Toby Hatchett. For an unreal late night experience, head to Hang Dai Gold Bar and enjoy one of 8 €11 cocktails while listening to anything from Honky-tonk to surf-pop.

Open till 3am seven days a week, the Globe is out staple late-night spot on this top 13 list. Located on South Great George’s Street right next to Izakaya, The Globe is known for its daily drink specials, it’s sunday jazz sessions, and its midweek dj sets. The music here is unbeatable and you’ll always have a different, yet equally awesome time no matter what day you go. If you’re out on a Sunday, looking for a drink and some chill tunes past midnight, then the Globe is the spot for you.

This next spot on our top 13 late-night bars is great for a drink at virtually any socially acceptable hour for alcohol. The Capitol Lounge is a modern, sleek cocktail bar with an art-deco twist. With top notch cocktails starting at just €5 each, this is a great spot for all you creatures of the night. Bonus: it’s 5 for €20 for some beautifully crafted shots. With these prices and ambience, it’s hard to beat this late-night haunt.

A favourite spot for the locals, Bruxelles has cemented its place on our top 13 late night bars. Voted one of europe’s top 50 Dive bars this year, Bruxelles is known for not one, not two, but three excellent bars all housed under one roof. The first is the Saloon Bar on the ground floor, a cozy, snug environment with additional outdoor seating, perfect for a chill pint. The second is flanders bar, ‘a haven for rock heads’ honouring the Bruxelles’s legacy as a rock and roll kingpin in Dublin. The third and final bar is the Zodiac Lounge, a celebrity favourite. Many household names have passed through the Zodiac Lounge including 50 cent, Oasis, Snow Patrol and more. Whether it’s a laid back pint, or a celeb sighting you’re after, Bruxelles is an excellent choice for a drink after dark.

Since opening its doors in 2001, Sin É has quickly became one of Dublin’s ultimate late night bars. Known as ‘Dublin’s original late night alternative venue’ Sin E has been offering free admission to all sorts of live music events seven nights a week since 2013. In addition to the tunes, Sin É also offers an array of craft and draft beers, as well as a great selection of top shelf liquor. In addition to music, Sin E also hosts fantastic comedy nights every Tuesday and Wednesday. Whether you’re looking for a gig, a laugh, or a late night pint, Sin É has you covered. Bonus: a pitcher of fosters is only €12!

Number 13 on our top late night Bars ranks Bad Bobs, truly a bar for all occasions. Whether you’re looking for an after work pint, or a post date cocktail this late night establishment has you covered. Bad Bobs believes every night out is an event, that’s why they always have live performances on weekdays as well as some class DJ’s over the weekend. What’s more, the prices are pretty consistent with other city-centre spots. So if you’re looking for a reasonably priced pint in the wee hours of the morning, head to Bad Bobs and see what’s happening. Bonus: there’s 2 for €12 cocktails all week long!

For all you music lovers out there, the Mezz is your kinda place for a post-10pm pint. With everything from Ska to Folk; Blues to Salsa; there’s something for everyone at this Temple Bar staple. The Mezz may look small from the outside, but this deceptively large joint is always packed and ready for a party. With live music, a friendly crowd, and some of the most welcoming staff in town, The Mezz is perfect for a late night beverage.
