Franco-Irish Literature Festival

Both English and French literature and artists are known all around the world. On 31th March, the 18th Franco-Irish Festival takes place in Dublin. It celebrates the friendship between France, French-speaking countries and Ireland.

The Franco-Irish Committee carefully chose artists and writers, who had a huge influence on literature.

On Friday there will be a screening of L’idéal directed by Frederic Beigbeder. The movie tells the crazy story of the fashion industry, full of sex, French sense of humor, and irrational stories.

The film- screening kicks-off at 6.30 at the Light House Cinema in Dublin 7.

On the following day, there will be 2 panel discussions. The first one is about forging fashion, the second one introduces narratives of fashion.

Afterwards, at 4 pm, you can take part in readings. The second day of festival finishes with an interview conducted by Eamon Ó Ciosain with Sophie Fontanel.

On Sunday at 11.30, the Literary Brunch entitled Tomorrow’s wardrobe is held.

During the festival, you will have the chance to meet fifteen writes, such as Nelly Kaprielian. Her most famous book, Veronica, was published one year ago. Paul Lynch, the popular writer of two prize-winning books, The Black Snow and Red Sky in Morning. Discover Aoife Dooley, a graphic designer, who is well-known for her Your One Nikkita Web comic. Jackie Maloon is an Irish writer and fashion designer. She published her first novel Silk for the feed Dog in 2013. Cleo Buchheim is a Swiss writer, who writes romantic-comedies which has crazy female characters in them.
