Be happier

Today we have listed some of the things you could do to be happier in this International Day of Happiness:

  1. Praise and encourage rather than criticise.
  2. Teach, show and practise empathy.
  3. Do more together as a family.
  4. Build quality relationships with those in your support network.
  5. Create a “no-phone zone” for at least a few hours.

In 2015, Psychiatrist Dr. Robert Waldinger shared some of the findings from a 75-year study of 724 adult men that began in 1938. His TED Talk has 26,245,824 views already and has been translated into multiple languages. For him, the key to global happiness is simple “people are happier who are more connected to others.”

So, in today’s world, with social media becoming all-consuming, we are to be remembered that community matters and that it is important to make an effort to increase real-world connections.

Some of the initiatives we encourage you to take are connecting with others in your community and making life happier where you are and, getting daily inspiration by the Action for Happiness team.

We would like to know how you are celebrating the International Day of Happiness.
