New controversial travel ban by Trump

Donald Trump signed a new travel ban that will be in force in the next 90 days. The rules apply to people from 6 Muslim countries, namely Sudan, Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia and Yemen, but even all refugees are under the ban from now.

For citizens of affected countries, it is no longer possible to cross United States’ boundaries if they do not have any close relative there. The list of close relatives include spouse, parent, child, sibling and fiancés. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces are not among the close relatives, as per list.

However, those with business or educational ties are allowed to enter US, despite the new rules.

As the rules start to valid from now, those who already have valid visas and are legal permanent residents are not affected. The interesting thing is that, dual nationals who travel on their passports, but only from the unaffected country, will be allowed to come in.

The rules are even harder for refugees as the Supreme Court approved a 120-day ban on them entering the US. If the new coming refugees fail to prove the ties about close relatives to an American individual or entity, they would not be welcomed in the country.
