What a year 2020 has been. As the year draws to an end, a lot of people are left wondering, what will there be to do this year for Christmas? Check out some of the ideas below!

Film/Television

Late Late Toy Show

The Late Late Toy Show will indeed be going ahead this year! A staple in nearly all Irish families since it first aired in 1974, the Late Late Toy Show is an annual episode of the Late Late Show, where children of all ages come and show off some of the best toys to ask Santa for that year. All of the toys featured on the show go to charity. Being aired on Friday, 27th November at 21:35.


Retro Drive In Movies 

While Retro Drive in did have to close for Halloween due to the Level 5 lockdown, they will be back open for their Christmas showings. From Home Alone to The Grinch, watching your favourite Christmas movie on the big screen will bring you some good cheer!

Mistletown Market 

One of the ways we all know Christmas is here is the abundance of markets that pop up! Thankfully this year, one of those, Mistletown Market, usually located in Capel Street’s Fruit and Veg Market, has moved online! Check out their website for some fantastic Christmas ideas, from clothes to food!

Rediscover Christmas Virtual Fair

A fair to help you rediscover the magic of Christmas, but it’s a sustainability virtual fair also! The Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun is bringing you an online fair. They will have workshops for both adults and children, sustainable gift ideas, and more. Happening from on the 5th of December from 11:00-13:00.

Pantos

Olympia Panto

The 2020 Panto Freezin’ 2 in The Olympia Theatre looks set to go ahead, running from mid December until January. 

Cheerios Panto

The Cheerios Panto for 2020, Peter Pan, looks like it will be going ahead. Check back on their website for more info on tickets and dates.

The Helix Panto

This year, The Helix’s Panto is The Sword in the Stone! The difference this year is that it will be a streamed event, so you can laugh and boo along with the cast from the comfort of your own home. Check out The Helix website for more details!

You will also look at the classic snowflake design and experiment with some basic paper cutting techniques. Christmas Wreath Making Kit by Kay’s Flower School

This year, perhaps more than ever, it will be nice to see some of the Christmas decorations going up a little early. One of the most visible ones we can see are the Christmas wreaths that appear on our doors. So this year, why not have a go at making your own? The Wreath Making Kit from Kay’s Flower School will be the perfect thing to use, and you’ll see those results hanging up all holiday season! Drive In Santa at the RDS 

Santa has been busy at work this year, making a few workshop drive-ins for all the family to enjoy. This one, located at the RDS promises a visit through Winter Workshops , Santa’s Sorting Office and even a chance to see the Elf’s Christmas Control Centre. Luggwoods Enchanted Forest/Meet Santa
