Will Oasis get back together?

Rock-and-roll band of the 90s, Oasis, had gone their separate ways in 2009. With hints from Liam Gallagher, will the iconic band Oasis come back together in 2022? With Liam Gallagher always throwing things out on Twitter, could it be true that he is calling for a reunion?

With the tension between the two Gallagher brothers, will they be willing to work together again? Liam is open to collaborating to bring Oasis back, but it seems Noel is not so pushed to be back working with Liam. Is Liam going to keep pushing the idea of a band reunion for old time sake?

Earlier in 2019, regarding Noel coming to Liam’s wedding, Liam expressed his hopes for “change” in the future in an interview with Johnathan Ross, does this include his hopes for an oasis reunion? This was not only the first time that Liam has suggested an Oasis Reunion out there. Liam sentimentally notes that he still cares for his brother and wants to see him at his wedding back in 2019.

In 2009, when the band split up, Noel made an announcement on the band’s website, “It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.” The tension was high around the two musical brothers leading to the band’s departure. Yet till this day, we are still getting their star-quality music as solo artists, but will it ever be the same as the electric 90s Oasis sound?

The love for the music never died down; the Oasis boys have still been producing their solo music since their split. The world certainly has not been deprived of music from the talented bunch. However, the lack of music as a band saddens Oasis megafans that a reunion would lift the spirits of who are missing Oasis together.

Rumour has it that Oasis are rejoining to record ‘lost’ records, but Liam seems to be left out of the picture. Does this mean we will never see Noel and Liam perform together again? The ball appears to be in Noel’s court, and it is up to him whether or not they will be back together as the complete Oasis from the 90s. From his decision to leave the band in 2009 until now, Noel has been pretty outspoken on his decision to keep him and his brother Liam separate from Oasis.

While Liam is comically tweeting about his favourite football team Manchester City or song of the day, he is probably calling out Noel for an Oasis reunion or reaction of some sort. New Year’s Day this year, Liam called out Noel wishing him a happy new year and that 2021 is their year. Liam writes, “HNY Noel love you long time 2021 is our year c’mon you know LG x.” Many fans are in support of this in the comments down below, it would certainly make Oasis’s fans year if the possibility of Oasis getting back together were there. Behind all the fun and games Liam appears to be having on his Twitter account, does Liam want the band back together himself or does he say it for a laugh?

On the other hand, Noel does see the “banter” in Liam’s consistent tweets. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe , Noel made it quite clear that he does not appreciate Liam’s constant calling out and puts it out straight that he does not appreciate it as he does not see the humour Liam is trying to project. Noel made it clear for us that he is simply not up for Oasis to be back together, given the fair reason of putting himself first. Noel says to Zane Lowe, “The Oasis outfit does not fit me anymore…if we got back together, it will kill me.”

Noel has been direct about the idea of an Oasis reunion with talkSport, “for the record: until anyone hears it from Me it’s not happening”. The boys are openly bantering about the reunion, but it is almost set in stone until Noel says yes, the reunion is not happening. It appears to be officially decided by Noel, and we are not getting the iconic Oasis reunion we have dreamed of.

Despite our nostalgic desire to get an Oasis reunion, it looks like it is far from happening in the meantime. It is not the 90s anymore, and they have gone their separate ways, but at least we still have them in the spotlight. Even as solo artists, they still share music with fans and hopefully will be back performing soon again. Unfortunately, it does not always work out the way we hope for, the time for Oasis seems to be up, but their music will live forever.

Meanwhile, we are lucky to have many gigs from the 90s thanks to the media to sit back and enjoy while feeling nostalgic about the band. Their hilarious and fun documentary, Supersonic, is also available to watch to look back on the band’s fun memories and their humorous commentary about their lives as rock and roll stars and the mischief they got up to from backstage to behind the microphone.
