A track which blends indie folk with easy-listening ambiance, “eyes for you” is a pretty indie ballad about the struggles of finding your self-worth.

Jen’s vocal performance feels reassuring yet understated, while the song itself is immaculately produced; the acoustic guitar being slightly higher in the mix than the electric guitar works extremely well in creating space and ambiance.

Regarding the meaning of the song, Jen says:

“‘eyes for you’ is quite personal to me, it’s about a battle between head and heart. It’s about chasing something that’s not good for you. Though you know it’s not right for you, you continue to chase it anyways.”

Jen also goes on to mention that the track is about “recognizing your own self-worth”, recalling that writing “eyes for you” was effortless.

Her Spoken Words extended play received airtime on BBC Sounds and was playlisted for RTE 1’s Recommended last year.

She is currently working on her second extended play alongside producer Fin Jackson.
