Lovers of Modern Art can appreciate four exhibitions of different artists at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), in Dublin. Those expositions show works from icons of Contemporary Art, like Vivienne Dick, Nan Goldin and Lucian Freud. The expositions includes photographs, films and paintings which shows particularities of the world of each artist.

Vivienne Dick – 93% STARDUST

Vivienne Dick is a Irish film-maker and artist, born in Donegal. Her work is marked by an interest in urban street life, social and sexual politics.

The exhibition is divided into three spaces. At first, people can contemplate pictures from late 1970s New York that are presented in a pop inspired lounge environment. The second is a darkned cinema space where the public can watch three of Dick’s recent films, including a new work – Augenblick (2017). And at the third room, it is a place to relax while you can watch a prop from Dick’s latest film, a short film starring Dick’s cat and other materials.

The exposition happens until 15th of October 2017 and is located at the Main Galleries, West Wing of the Museum and the admission is free.

Nan Goldin – Weekend Plans

Nan Goldin is one of the most important artists working today, and in her works she shares personal stories about herself and the ones who is close to her, and shows the public a deeply sensual world of friendship, love and transgression. During the exhibition people can contemplate works from the 1970s to 2016, including a 1985 slidshow The Ballad of Sexual Dependency, which brings photographs of friends, family and lovers; sixteen recent and rarely exhibited drawings; and a series of images taken in Ireland in 1979 and 2002, which have never been shown before.

The exhibition happens until 15th of October and is presented alongside the exhibition 93% STARDUST and the admission is free.

Visitors are advised that this exhibition contais adult themes and explicit imagery that may not be suitable for all audiences.

Hennessy Art Fund for IMMA Collection

For this exhibition, the IMMA joins four works by four different Irish artists, which were selected: Mark Garry, Mairéad Mc Clean, Ciarán Murphy and Yuri Pattison.

This is the second year of this project which chose artists based in Ireland and Irish artists,  living abroad, whose works show innovation and excellence within comtemporary arts.

The exhibition happens until 26th of November 2017 and takes place at the Courtyard Galleries, East Ground of the Museum and the admission free.




IMMA Collection: Freud Project 2016 – 2021

This exposition marks a five-year initiative for IMMA and shows the public the works of the one of the greatest realist painters of the 20th century: Lucian Freud. During the exhibition, is possible to enjoy works which explore themes like portraiture, self-portraiture, still-life, animals and nature, and also includes portraits of the artist’s family, an art writer, his art dealer, business people and even his doctor. The public also can see photographs of Freud in his studio.

The Freud Project works will be shown in the IMMA Collection through curated shows and projects.
