India has launched 104 satellites

In 2014 Russia launched 37 satellites into orbit, this year India has launched many more, 104 and at the same time beat the record.

India is one of the main contestants in the wealthy space market.

It was a huge affair for everyone, it took place in the space centre in Southern India in Sriharikota

The prime minister tweeted “This remarkable feat by @isro is yet another proud moment for our space scientific community and the nation. India salutes our scientists.”

However not all satellites belong to India. 96 of them are property of the US and others to belong to The  Netherlands, Switzerland, The United Arab Emirates, Israel and Kazakhstan. Only 3 satellites are owned by India.

The cartographic satellite is thought to observe regional rivals China and Pakistan.

The success lead to other announcement by the  Indian government. They claimed to  send a mission to Venus.

In 2014 The European and Russian space agency sent a spacecraft into orbit around Mars. India is in fourth place after the US and the mentioned space agency. It is a huge success for the country.

Nowadays India definitely is one of the major players in the profitable space business.
