Wexford Drama Festival

The Wexford Drama Festival takes place in March, where you are going to have a chance to see talented actors and their performances.

From 2nd to 10th of March  every night you will be taken to the world of art at the Dun Mhuire Theatre.

On the first day you will be entertained by Billy Roche and his play “Lay me down softly”. The drama sets in Ireland and will take you to the burlesque world.

The day after “Little gem” directed by Elaine Murphy will be performed by Holycross Ballycahill Drama Group.

On the 4th you have a chance to get to know the famous performance by Neil Simon “Last of the red hot lovers”. The comedy premiered on Broadway in 1969.

The Hedda Gabler directed by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, is a classic and realistic drama, which takes place in The 19th century.

On the 7th you have an opportunity to watch the controversial play “Agnes of God” by American dramatistic John Pielmeier. The drama tells the story of a nun who gets pregnant and asserts that the child was a result of a virgin conception.

“An inspector Calls” by J. B. Priestley will be performed on the 8th. The drama depicts a story about investigation of women who committed suicide.

The next day you will see “ Shadow of the gunman” by  Seán O’Casey, which tells the story of the Irish War of Independence

During the last day you can watch the “Portia Coughlan” by Marina Carr. The play is set in Ireland in 1990 and it’s about Portia who has everything but can’t deal with death of her brother.

The  nightly ticket costs 10/12 euro. The patron’s ticket costs 60 euros.
