A short background

Culture Night (or Oíche Chultúir) has grown from a relatively small-scale cultural event, staged only in Dublin in 2006, to the significant national cultural event it is now. It involves museums, galleries, historic houses, art studios, and cultural centres across the island. In the end, it encourages people to visit cultural venues, experience culture in their locality, to try new things, and to get into the habit of engaging more regularly with culture.
