Good Beer or Whiskey? Dublin is the right place

Our third collection of museums is not about modern art or literature as the last two. This selection is different. It includes some history as well, the history of the famous Guinness beer and whiskey in Ireland. Where are the origins? Who invented it and how is it made? You can find the answers to these questions if you visit the museums, Irish Whiskey distillery or the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.

The Guinness Storehouse is located in the heart of St. James’s Gate Brewery. It is a big complex of historical buildings near the centre of Dublin. The Storehouse is one of the most popular attractions in Ireland. Nobody could miss out on this interesting experience.

The visitors’ tour runs through the whole building. You can find out a lot about Ireland’s history and its long brewing heritage. The end of the journey is in the world-famous Gravity Bar that is also a part of the Guinness Storehouse. The exhibition is a must for every beer lover but also for visitors that want to learn something about Irish history, taste some beer or see some remarkable architecture.

Irish Whiskey Museum

Irish whiskey originated some time in the 11th Century. Irish Monks traveled through North Africa and brought the technique of distilling perfumes back to Ireland. This museum discloses the whole remarkable tale of Irish whiskey.

The Museum offers guided tours telling the history of traditional Irish whiskey and its modern counterparts during the excursion. You can taste some whiskey as well or, with vip ticket, get some souvenirs to bring home.

The Irish Whiskey Museum is situated in the centre of Dublin near Trinity College. Aside from tours you can just relax in their contemporary bar that is a part of the Museum and taste the Irish whiskey, coffee or cocktails.

Teeling Whiskey Distillery

The Teeling Whiskey Distillery is placed in the heart of Dublin City Centre. It is the newest spot for whiskey lovers and everybody who is interested in Irish whiskeys long tradition. The Teeling Whiskey Distillery is the only working distillery in the city and home to the Spirit of Dublin.

Teeling Whiskey is an independent Irish whiskey company devoted to bringing choice and broadness back to the Irish whiskey category through small collection releases of amusing flavours and bottles. The main goal of the Distillery is to bring back the independent spirit of whiskeys in Dublin.

Old Jameson Distillery

The Old Jameson Distillery tells the story of John Jameson and his son. Here you will discover the secret of preparing the famous Jameson Irish Whiskey. The Distillery, located in the heart of Smithfield, is now renovated and will be reopening in March 2017.
