Parliament Shooting

Two Shots were heard outside the House of Parliament in Central London.

Commons Leader David Lidington has said that a police officer had been stabbed and police said they had shot the presumed attacker. He was seen running towards the exit of New Palace Yard and was shot when he ignored warnings of the police to stop. He was carrying something that seemed like a long kitchen knife.

An eye witness, Radoslaw Sikorski, posted a video on Twitter that showed several injured people lying in the road on Westminster Bridge. He tweeted “A car on Westminster Bridge has just mowed down at least 5 people.”

Staff inside Parliament were urged to stay in their offices.

Westminster underground station has been shut and an air ambulance is attending to the casualties on the streets.

Police added this incident were to be treated as a terrorist attack until further information was known.
