The story of comic that is not a joke

He once said that ‘if there is a God, his plan is very similar to one without a plan’. Fortunately, he knows what he has to do. Help people whose lives are too a lot different to ours. That’s why Eddie Izzard will run 27 marathons in 27 days through South Africa and get money for ‘Sport Relief’ (BBC charity).

It will be not the first time when he’s done something like this. He completed 43 marathons in 51 days in 2009. He did it across England and raised over £1.8 million. What’s ever more interesting is that he did it without any specific preparation.

He has already tried to complete these 27 marathon. He failed but didn’t give up. ‘If I fail, I will come back again and again and again until I do succeed. Because that’s what Nelson Mandela would have done”. The famous South African presidents who received ‘Peace Nobel’ in 1993, will be the patron of Izzard. He is also the reason of these marathons and days number. Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in a prison waiting for the chance to defeat apartheid.

‘Sport Relief’ is the charity which helps the disadvantaged people in poorest regions of the world. It is also supported by the other famous people like Richard Hammond, Gary Lineker, Jimmy Carr or Tony Blair. It started his activity in 2002.

The Izzard marathon will be showed on BBC internet website. We have to prepare to see how an English white man is fighting with 30 degrees temperature, high humidity and dangerous insects. Nobody should forget about his try, watch it and support it by viewing and donating to charity.

He joked once. ‘I wanna live ’til I die, no more, no less’. Before he will run his marathons, help children and do not stop to surprise us.
