Japanese Festival

Can you imagine a mix of Japanese and Irish culture? Music, dance performances, calligraphy, origami, martial arts demonstrations, Japanese food stalls and  much more in Phoenix Park this weekend.

Do you know that Japan is often called the “Land of rising sun”? Or that it is a stratovolcanic archipelago? Or that the country has 6,852 islands? Fine, you don’t know anything about this amazing country! Don’t worry, Dublin offers you a chance to learn more about Japan this weekend!

If you are already occupied, call off your appointments for Sunday afternoon! From 12pm to 4pm come to Farmleigh House & Estate in the Phoenix Park to see the show, celebrating Japan’s culture.

Follow the main schedule of the day:

12.00 Opening | J-pop dance | Irish & Japanese music performances | Taiko drumming

1.00   Children’s performance | Japanese traditional dance | Rock music | Jazz music

2.30   Welcome performance | EJ & Children’s Taiko with Irish dancing | Music gathering | Bodhrán performance | Soranbushi

3.45 Japanese matsuri grand finale

Does it sound great? It is! All the activities, stage performances and workshops are free. The activities will run until 4pm and for the whole day, you can enjoy the services of Japanese food vendors.

Try to write your name in Japanese, make origami, paint in anime style, put on a traditional kimono and more than that Sunday in Phoenix Park!
