Shoe Lane Coffee

Shoe 20190323 143521 e1556564786570Lane is one of my favourite coffee places in town. It’s in Tara Street, so it’s a little bit out of the way of my normal route but I still catch myself going the extra mile to just sit there and relax and write a little.

The shop itself has some of the remnants of its past. It used to be a store where they made shoes by hand and you can still see some of the old Singer sewing machines. It gives the place a unique touch that I miss in others.

Downstairs, it’s rather small but they have more seats upstairs. There’s this huge map of the world on the wall where they pin the locations of where they’re getting the coffee beans from, which is cute.IMG 20190429 122715 535 e1556565131425

The staff are very friendly and really delivered. My cappuccino was amazing, nice and foamy, the roast tasted very smooth. I had a croissant and it was delicious. I haven’t had a chance to try their other treats, but I’m sure that I will in the future. For non-dairy lovers, they have all the different kinds you need, such as soy, almond, oats and even coconut. To be honest, I can’t wait for a hot day so I can order an iced latte and chill on the little bench in front of the window.

They have another shop in Dun Laoghaire. When I finally get there, because I still haven’t been, I might just pop by as well. Because good coffee is always worth a walk.

The only thing that I find a bit sad is that they’re not open on Sundays. Because for me, that’s the day that I desperately need a good coffee in a quiet space. Sundays are the perfect coffee days.
