30 + 1: Italo Calvino
Italo Calvino
The 30 + 1: Italo Calvino is taking place today in Trinity Long Room Hub at Fellows’ Square, Trinity College at 6:30pm. The event is a commemoration of Italo Calvino, who died in 1985.  He was an influential international and deeply intercultural writer.  Calvino is linked intertextually to traditions such as the Renaissance and Modernism and open to the future to the point of anticipating post-human concerns.

Visitors of this event will see some presentations on Calvino’s work that will be followed by readings in English, Chinese and Italian from his work. Admission is free, but registration is required via Roberto Bertoni at rbertoni@tcd.ie.

Inspiration Proclamation Public: Interview with Mary McAleese

The Inspiration Proclamation starts at 7pm on Wednesday November 30th. The event takes place in The National Library at Kildare Street, Dublin 2. It is a series of interviews that considers the relevance of the 1916 Proclamation. Dr Mary McAleese was invited For this interview, Ireland’s former president. by Dr John Bowman. Admission is free, but booking  is required.

Dublin Writers Circle
The Dublin Writers Circle is running today at 8pm in The Intercontinental Hotel at Simmonscourt Road, Ballsbridge. The event is organised by budding novelist Frances Flannery. It It invites authors who already have written something to their event which offers Writers Support and an Open Mic Session. The event is a cooperative and supportive environment for everybody to learn and to progress.

Los Paradiso
The Los Paradiso is weekly event and running every Wednesday in Leeson Lounge at Upper Leeson Street. The gig of Irish musicians is for everybody, who like Rockabilly, Tex Mex, Western Swing and Surf. Come today at 9pm to spend time with great music. Admission is free, but some donations are welcome.
