Women for Election Panel Discussion

Join Women for Election and a line up of TDs and Senators as we ask if 2019’s upcoming elections could transform the political playing field for women in Ireland?

With the local and European elections set for May, Women for Election hopes to see a wave of women running, and winning. After the high-profile victories for Women in the US midterms this winter, Women for Election asks can Ireland harness a similar energy as we attempt to bring about gender balance in Irish politics. This evening plans to address the challenges women face and the efforts afoot to make politics more inclusive for women candidates in this current political climate, as well as touching on the political agenda of 2019 so far.
