Invasion 1169: The National Conference on the Occasion of the 850th Anniversary of the Anglo-Norman Invasion

May 2nd, 2019, marks, perhaps to the very day, the 850th anniversary of the first landing in County Wexford in 1169 of the Anglo-Norman adventurers enlisted by the king of Leinster, Diarmait Mac Murchada. Their arrival marks the start of the Anglo-Norman Invasion of Ireland. The Trinity College Dublin will host the national conference on the history of the Invasion, which will take place on 2nd to 4th May 2019.

Brains of the Batter Stoneybatter Festival 2019

It’s that time of year to don your smarty pants and clever clogs and head to the Stoneybatter Festival Table Quiz. Get your brains out for The Batter and join the community in The Glimmer Man on Thursday 2 May at 8.00pm for our FUNdraising table quiz-night in aid of the Stoneybatter Festival. No pre-registration but get there early to nab a spot! We will be registering from 7.15 pm. Great Prizes and local bragging rights to be won!  Plus Spot Prizes and Raffle Prizes galore and all donated by our wonderful local businesses and organisations.

Darren Beckett Trio f/ George Colligan

Darren and George will be reunited since their extensive playing and recording days in New York. Recording for the Steeplechase record label as a trio and also as the trio and with artists such as Lee Konitz and Rich Perry. They will be playing a selection of arranged standards and Compositions from George. They will be joined by Irelands premier bass player Dave Redmond.
