My Prairie Home: film screening

The Science Gallery Dublin together with Gaze international LGBT Film Festival present a free screening of the documentary My Prairie Home as part of the summer exhibition Sound Check. It represents what is like to grow up transgender in a rural community in Canada. The film tells the story of Indie singer and songwriter Rae Spoon and his melancholic journey back to the Canadian Prairies.

The screening takes place at Science Gallery Dublin from 6pm.

Brazilian Rhythms tonight // Nação Zumbi in Dublin @ Button Factory

A piece of Brazil comes to Dublin tonight! One of the most important brazilian groups that came out of the manguebeat movement back in in the 90’s – Nação Zumbi will make us move with their beats tonight at Button Factory. The band evokes a combination of regional afro styles with hip-hop, punk rock and funk.Hurry up if you still haven’t bought your ticket! There are still a few left online, and the platform will be open till 6pm today.

New Orleans Swamp Donkeys @ Sugar Club

Passionate Jazz musicians who love the style of 1910s New Orleans from the beginnings of the genre. These guys started in the authentic US jazz music scene playing local festivals and second lines, and transitioned into world-class music programs, festivals, and events, playing in concerts all over the globe. The Sugar Club invite us tonight to enjoy a night of classy, elegant and soulful Jazz music straight from its roots.

The gig starts at 8pm.
