FILM SCREENING – L’accabadora (Enrico Pau)
As part of ‘Monday at the cinema’, the Istituto Italiano de Cultura offers an Italian-Irish drama screening: L’Accabadora, directed by Enrico Pau and released in 2015.
An Italian-Irish co-production set in rural Sardinia and its largest city Cagliari during the Second World War, L’Accabadora tells the story of Annetta, a woman whose fate has been written in stone since her birth. After a tragic event, when she is called upon to give her sister a ‘good death’, Annetta must confront her own fate in order to help her sister’s troubled daughter.
And after the screening, don’t miss the opportunity to meet lead actor Barry Ward and director of photography Piers McGrail during a Q&A organised by the Instituto Italiano de Cultura!
