1. Carla Dal Forno at The Grand Social
Today Carla Dal Forno makes her Irish debut performance at The Grand Social. The Australian-born Berlin resident released a fragile yet stunning debut album in 2016 entitled You Know What It’s Like on the acclaimed Blackest Ever Black label.
You Know What It’s Like is an album for in-between days, and occupies in-between states: plain-speaking pop, disorientated by dub. Psychedelic folk delivered with (post-)punk economy. Drifting in space while still tethered to the ground. Astral tones blurred with earth sounds: wood, bone, breath, skin, dirt. Ending and beginning, dying and becoming.
Drop by and make the best of your Tuesday with her and her music!

3. Popcorn Presents: True Romance (Lovers Edition)
Quentin Tarantino has always insisted that film is a writer’s medium, so it makes sense that one of the greatest-ever cult films that wasn’t directed by him was at least written by him.
The film in question was the Tony Scott-directed True Romance. Starring Patricia Arquette as a call girl who falls in love with an unwitting client, Clarence (played by Christian Slater), this tale of mobster crime and Elvis apparitions is a hilarious and lurid drama.
The star power behind the cast is frankly amazing; Brad Pitt, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Gary Oldman, Val Kilmer, and Samuel L Jackson are but a sampling of the names that roll with credits.
If you’re a cinephile, you’ll adore the chance to spend an evening at the Sugar Club with this hip favourite.
Where: The Sugar Club, 8 Lower Leeson Street
When: 20:00 – 23:00
Price: €12.50
