1. I Have a Tribe at Whelan’s

Patrick O’Laoghaire, aka I Have A Tribe, has spent 2016 travelling Europe with his songs from Beneath A Yellow Moon, an LP recorded with Paul Savage, supporting the likes of Sophie Hunger, The Slow Show and William
1485171448IHAT360x3602Fitzsimmons and playing Latitude Festival, Bluebird Festival, Sacred Ground Festival, 7 Layers and Let’s Get Lost Festival, among others. Previously, O’Laoghaire worked with Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey, Anna Calvi) and Conor O’Brien of Villagers, toured Europe with Anna Calvi, and performed at The Great Escape, Electric Picnic and CMJ in New York.

O’Laoghaire has lived with the idea of I Have A Tribe for years, but it only became real after an influx of confidence gained by touring and recording with Irish band Slow Skies: “It started when I got more brave. I just wanted to see if I could make something real using the colours that were in my head.”

If you still have some strength left (I’m sure you have), join the “Enchanting, fragile folk-pop from a humble talent” (The Independent) this Saturday. Following the release of his long awaited, critically acclaimed second album After The Rain, Benjamin Francis Leftwich announced he will be headlining Whelans this weekend.

After The Rain, sees Leftwich trading in his signature acoustic sound for layered electronics that flicker with gospel tinged vocals, offering an insight into the depth and emotion.
