1. Lounge Act Nirvana tribute

This is it! All Apologies to the rest of concerts today, but we are talking about the ultimate Nirvana’s tribute in Dublin.

Whether you are one of those cheesy chocolate Heart-Shaped Box people or you think your heart is more like a Lake of Fire when talking About a Girl (or a boy), I urge you to Come as You Are to the Gypsy Rose Rock and Blues Bar tonight. 20

This is the authentic, ruff around the edges Nirvana of Ireland you were waiting for. They will be playing a two and a half hour set of Nirvana face melters for you up close and personal.

Be ready to shout out loud all those lyrics you know by heart!

Where: Gypsy Rose Rock and Blues Bar, 5 Aston Quay, Dublín Dublin 2
When: Friday 20, 19:00 – 23:00
Price: €6

2. Saturday’s free hike

Saturday 21st January – Tibradden / Fairy Castle / Kilmashogue / Tibradden

A pleasant moderate walk from Tibradden car park via Dublin Mountain Way (DMW) trail to summit of Tibradden, passing a passage tomb on top. The route then follows Wicklow Way (WW) down to forest road and continues by three rock. The route then climbs up to Fairy Castle at 537m the highest point where you will get (weather being kind) panoramic views over Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow. So don’t forget to bring your camera! The walk then descends down westwards to join the Tibradden DMW again. The route now descends to upper car park where you started. Information will be given on different DMPW walks and equipment that you should bring to enjoy the walks.

3. Global Game Jam Dublin 2017

Global Game Jam time has just arrived! On Friday 20th of January registration starts at 3pm at Microsoft in Sandyford.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world’s largest game jam event taking place around the world at physical locations. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development. It is the growth of an idea that in today’s heavily connected world, we could come together, be creative, share experiences and express ourselves in a multitude of ways using video games – it is very universal. The weekend stirs a global creative buzz in games, while at the same time exploring the process of development, be it programming, iterative design, narrative exploration or artistic expression. It is all condensed into a 48 hour development cycle. The GGJ encourages people with all kinds of backgrounds to participate and contribute to this global spread of game development and creativity.
