The first Midnight Disco party of 2020 will kick off at Yamamori Tengu this Thursday with the help of DJ Donna Leake. Donna has returned every year to Yamamori and her sets spread far and wide, always depending on her mood. You will get music for open ears, open minds and open hearts.
Sharon Shannon, the award-winning Irish musician from County Clare has recorded and toured with a number of big names in the Irish and global music industry, including Bono, Sinead O’Connor, The RTE Concert Orchestra, The Chieftains and many more. Her recorded albums to date have mixed traditional Irish music with reggae, country, Native American, rap, dance and other music genres. See her live as part of Dublin City Tradfest this January, but remember that space is limited!
Indie-Classical composer Diarmuid J. Kennedy will play a benefit concert for PSPA Ireland. The concert will feature a selection of his own inspiring piano compositions. Diarmuid’s beautiful music has received international airplay on radio stations in the USA, UK and the Netherlands.
Ireland’s Chinese community has long-running associations with Dublin City, so it is not surprising that this year’s Chinese New Year celebrations are launched in the heart of the city. The Dublin Fruit & Vegetable Market will be transformed with light and colours to welcome the Year of the Rat and the beginning of a new zodiac cycle. Guests are invited to attend the reception, ribbon-cutting and performance featuring pianist Jing Li performing alongside Irish aerial performer Kate Dunne.
