During this dismal week of relentless, biblical rain, Babylon radio has found five fun and rain-safe events to warm you up and get you feeling all cosy on this 2nd of October.

Riff Raff Comedy

There’s nothing better to shake off those wet-weathered blues than a bit of free comedy. Riff Raff is a weekly event where you can witness an array of comedians, old and new, strutting their stuff on stage. Whilst many may be trying out their material for the first time, the likes of Chris Kent, Keven McGahern and many more have made appearances at this venue.

When: 2nd October, 8.30-10.30pm

Casey Lowry

Dance the night away to the sweet croons of Casey Lowry, an up and coming Chesterfield lad who has been climbing up to fame since the age of 14, with recognition from the likes of Radio One as artist of the week. Expect guitar, tropical electronic vibes (trop pop), and a lot of people singing along. Support acts are Aimee and Deco.

5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche 

Don’t be put off by the name, this play was a top hit at the New York International Fringe Festival last summer. Set in 1956, this play is known for its surreal and quirky demeanour and has been described by The New York Times as “a frolicsome little play that ventures into such heady excesses of absurdism”. Bangers and Crash

If you’re looking for something a little different and enjoy the flavour of music that “transcends time and borders” then hop along to Bangers and Crash Percussion Group’s global rhythms tonight.

Pub Quiz 

Ready to put your general and niche knowledge to the test? Then get yourself down to the Russell Court Hotel between 6.30-7.30. Teams of four will be decided upon arrival so whether you arrive solo or in a team there’s a space for you. Entry is €5 but after that all drinks cost €2. Now how’s that for a bargain?
