Justine Nantale is a Ugandan-born musician who moved to Ireland as a teenager. She is a founding member of the Discovery Gospel Choir, Ireland’s first intercultural choir. She has previously performed with the likes of Foy Vance and Sinéad O’Connor. She will debuting her new single, Friday 2nd August @ The Grand Social. She will be joined by some of Ireland’s most talented multi-cultural musicians including KIRUU, as well as Paj, a world/soul-singer who has previously shared the stage with Billy Idol and Taylor McFerrin, to name a few.

Returning to the Gate Theatre for a limited 9-Week Run, following a successful debut in 2018, this production is not to be missed. Based upon the novel of the same title by local author Roddy Doyle, The Snapper is filled with 80’s nostalgia and offers a comedic account of the ups and downs of family life and pregnancy on the Northside of Dublin. So ingrained in Dublin’s history and culture, is that the baby of the play’s leading protagonist “Sharon”, is born at the Rotunda, which sits just next door to the theatre.

GAZE International LGBT Film Festival / ALL WEEKEND

Lighthouse Cinema on Market Square, will be hosting Dublin’s annual Gaze film festival featuring 40+ screenings, from established and upcoming filmmakers from the LGBT+ Community. This year’s programme lineup features a collection of Irish premieres, as well as a number of short films and a number of classics that have appeared throughout the festival’s, over the past 26 years. The festival will be showing a selection of films for all ages, including a family screening of the Little Mermaid which celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year, though some films may only be suitable for mature audiences.

Beatyard 2019 / ALL WEEKEND

Likely to be the last Beatyard Festival in Dún Laoghaire Harbour, the bodytonic festival returns with a jam-packed line-up for the 5th year running. This year’s line-up will feature a host of local and international acts including Todd Terje, Groove Armada, Chvrches, Jungle, as well as hip-hop legend Grandmaster Flash. The festival welcomes all ages by featuring a child-friendly “Kidsyard” with opportunities for face painting and neon crafts, whilst there is plenty of food and drink available from The Eat Yard, as well as Handsome Burger and the Big Blue Bus. There is also ample opportunity to join the daily boat parties that will be running throughout the event.

The College Green will be pedestrianised this Sunday and will be filled with a host of Juggler’s, Mime’s and street performers. There will be plenty of activities to get involved with including opportunities to Explore and Create with Science and Technology attractions, as well as mind-blowing 3D art illusions. This Sunday also celebrates International Clown week with a host of circus skills workshops, and will feature an Antique Carousel, face painters and stilt walkers.
