Wacky Races- Making The US Presidential Election Great Again

Now, nobody is disputing that the US presidential election is very serious business. We at Babylon Radio try to keep abreast of all the goings on around the world, especially important stuff like presidential elections, and give an informative, objective, and ernest report of it to our beloved readers and listeners.

Sometimes, however, it can be pretty hard to take the news seriously.

The 2016 US presidential election campaign has been arguably more controversial, outrageous, and downright weird than any to date.

The Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton, whose political career began when she became First Lady to her husband Bill Clinton, has made history by becoming the first woman in US history to become presidential nominee for a major political party.

In spite of this, and the potential for her to appeal to female voters across the United States, 68-year-old Mrs Clinton is one of the least popular nominations to have run in recent years.

As secretary of state, Mrs Clinton was embroiled in a controversy over her private email account, in which over 30,000 emails were deleted, leading to deep-running feelings of distrust towards her.

On top of that, nobody has forgotten the whole debacle which saw her husband exit the White House back in 1998- not that any of that was her fault, mind you.

And then there’s Donald Trump.

The loud-mouthed real estate mogul has taken the US political stage by storm with his unique approach to diplomacy.

Despite having no background whatsoever in politics, Mr Trump has been in the public view for a long time with his involvement in TV shows such as The Apprentice, and has seen to it that his name made its way into every American household.

He has been seen by many voters as an alternative to conventional politics, which, in all fairness, he absolutely is.

The 70-year-old Republican has threatened a number of outrageous policies, including building a wall across the US-Mexican border, which was suggested in popular American comedy Arrested Development back in 2013, long before Trump made his political debut.

Since then, the electoral whirlwind seems to have uprooted reason and thrown it out the window, to the entertainment of the world wide web, which has come up with all kinds of skits and parodies. Here’s a few of our favourites for you to enjoy over your lunch break-
