Working Hard, Playing Harder

Hard Working Class Heroes Festival comes to Dublin this weekend.

Music lovers across the city and beyond are gearing up for one of the most anticipated events in Dublin’s calendar.

Hard Working Class Heroes is a city-wide music festival which has been running for over a decade now. With over 100 emerging artists playing in six venues from Thursday 6th to Saturday 8th, this weekend is the best opportunity for meeting your new favourite band/singer/performer in the flesh and on the stage.

Over the 14 years wich the festival has been running, it has been instrumental in promoting home-grown musical talent, such as Villagers and Hozier, in the early days of their careers.

The festival not only includes back to back, wall to wall live acts for the full weekend, but also hosts a convention centre featuring seminars from big names in the Irish, UK, US, and European music industries, giving expert insight to aspiring artists who want to give themselves a fighting chance at making it big.

On top of this, the festival will spill out onto the streets in a free, all-ages, all-welcome series of unplugged gigs popping up in a host of intimate venues, including bookshops, cafes, record shops, charity shops, tattoo parlours and even disused factories.

Main event tickets start at €10 for single venue entries, or €20 for the evening wristband. Full weekend tickets are available for €45, although discounts are available for students with valid ID.

Tickets are available from the Hard Working Class Heroes Box Office, based in Filmbase on Curved St, Temple Bar, from 10am to midnight from tomorrow, 6th October to Saturday 8th, or from the website below.
