Christmas is the perfect opportunity to veg out at home with family and friends, eat great food and rewatch some of your favourite movies. The holidays are the perfect time to watch over long film sagas and trilogies, the dark cold winter nights are perfect for binge watching some classic saga films you haven’t got around to watching in a while!
1. The Harry Potter Film Series
Up first, is the beloved franchise of Harry Potter. The film series is based on the best selling novels of the same name. There are eight fantasy films in total to watch. This film series consists of five fantasy romance films based on the best selling novels of the same name. It begins with Twilight and ends with Breaking Dawn – Part 2. This is a perfect marathon watch with friends. The run time is just over 10 hours.
6. The Star Wars Original Trilogy
The original Star Wars films consist of three films, beginning with Episode IV: A New Hope and ending with Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. A back to back marathon will take you over 6 hours. 7. The Hunger Games Film Series
These sci-fi, dystopian, adventure films are based on the novels of the same name. The series begins with The Hunger Game and ends with Mockingjay- Part 2. The run time for a marathon is just over 9 hours.
8. The Santa Clause Film Series
This traditional Christmas series is perfect for a family watch. These comedy films have 3 installations ending with Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause and the run time for a marathon is just under 5 hours.
9. The Rocky Film Series
This series is an accumulation of American boxing drama films. It begins with Rocky the 1976 classic and ends with Creed II, the recent 2018 release. The run time for the full series is 15 hours.
10. The Toy Story Franchise
Another family friendly option to close off the list is the Toy Story films. All together there are 4 films to watch along with the kids. The run time is over 6 hours.
