Scrumdiddly’s – The best ice cream in Dublin
A small side entrance to a house is the gateway to possibly the best ice cream sundae you’ll find in Ireland. Scrumdiddly’s is home to 2,400 different combinations of toppings, ice cream and sauces which makes for a seriously decadent dessert.
My go-to is the snickerbocker glory – whipped ice cream, homemade snickers ice cream, copious amounts of caramel melted chocolate and snickers bars. Not a fan of nuts? Replace snickers with oreos or Ferrero Rocher. Oh yes. When it comes to choosing a delicious ice cream, you don’t have to stick to the rules. You get to create what you want and douse it in whatever sauce you desire (think Kinder Bueno or Malteser). And if you don’t believe me, check them out on instagram.
Their recent creation is the Twix Fix. And trust me, it will fix anything and everything. It consists of whipped dairy ice cream, crushed biscuit, Dulce de Leche caramel, melted Cadbury, chunks of Twix topped with a ring donut and caramel Speculoos sauce. As you may be aware, I am a big fan of donuts, so I had to try it. And it totally lived up to expectations.
Their desserts aren’t limited to sundaes. Try one of their loaded crepes (I bet you won’t be able to finish it), a Belgian waffle, milkshakes or some of their hot desserts like warm apple pie.
So head to Dun Laoghaire or Donabate the next time you have an evening free. Wrap up warm and stroll along the pier, sundae in hand.
