Germany Agency Worker Minimum Pay Rises to €15.33 in September 2026
Temporary agency workers in Germany have a new sector wage floor of €15.33 an hour from 1 September 2026. The rule also covers posted agency workers working in Germany.
Germany’s minimum hourly pay floor for temporary agency workers rose to €15.33 gross on 1 September 2026.
The rate is separate from the general statutory minimum wage and applies specifically to temporary agency work, known in German as Arbeitnehmerüberlassung or Leiharbeit.
Who is covered?
The Federal Ministry of Labour says the wage floor applies to temporary agency workers employed in Germany. It also covers workers posted to Germany by agency employers based abroad.
What are the current rates?
The sector floor was €14.96 gross per hour from 1 July to 28 August 2026. From 1 September 2026 to 31 March 2027, it is €15.33 gross per hour. A further increase to €15.87 is scheduled from 1 April 2027.
How is this different from Germany’s general minimum wage?
Germany’s general statutory minimum wage is €13.90 gross per hour in 2026. The temporary-agency sector has a higher binding floor under a separate regulation.
What should workers check?
If you work through a temporary employment agency, check your payslip, the number of hours recorded and the hourly rate in your contract. If your pay seems below the applicable minimum, keep your records and seek advice from the relevant labour authority or worker support service.
