Jallosh 2017: Indian cultural event
The Marathi Mandal Ireland, an Indian community in Ireland, is organising ‘Jallosh 2017’ on June 03, 2017. The event has been organised to celebrate Gudi Padwa which is a springtime festival that marks the traditional new year for Marathi Hindus and also their annual get-together. It is celebrated in and near the Maharashtra state of India. Hence, people from this region of India in Ireland are celebrating the occasion in Dublin tomorrow.
“Jallosh is the title of our annual get-together where we organise traditional games, sports, entertainment and cultural programmes for the guests followed by dinner where authentic Indian food is served,” said organisers. The celebration will start at 12 midday in Erin’s Isle GAA club, Finglas South, Dublin. Lots of activities and games, for kids as well as adults, have been planned by the organising committee at the venue followed by a cultural programme which will include classical dance performances, drama and lots more.
The kid’s corner will have music and dance activities, indoor and outdoor activities, face-painting, craft corner among others. Apart from all these activities there will be food stalls serving mouth-watering traditional Indian street food at the venue. The fun-filled day will end with dinner where authentic Indian food will be served to the guests. For more information about the event visit their facebook page, ‘Marathi Mandal Ireland.’
