The Titanic Experience in Belfast
The Titanic, which sank on 15th April 1912, was built by the Belfast industrial company, Harland and Wolff. On board of the Titanic were many Irish, too – especially in third class and most of the crew. Today, Belfast is home to one of two popular museums in Ireland that are devoted to the “unsinkable” ship and its history.
Titanic Belfast is located beside the Titanic Slipways where the newly-built Titanic first came into contact with water, and the Harland and Wolff Drawing Offices, and the Hamilton Graving Dock where the Titanic was designed and built.
Explore the Titanic through the Titanic Experience by yourself by discovering the 9 interactive galleries which will take you back in time. They will show you the views you had from the Titanic. Close your eyes, listen to the sound of the ocean and discover how the Titanic smelled all these years ago. Find out more about the stories of the Titanic and the people that bordered it.
