20 of Dublin’s Best Brunch Spots
Dublin is jam-packed with gorgeous spots for food and drink. Something it does particularly well is brunch. There’s no shortage of cafés and restaurants if you’re looking to eat in that sweet spot between breakfast and lunch.

1. Póg, Howth
Have a sweet tooth? Póg has got you covered. Although they do regular brunch dishes like avocado smash and poached eggs, Póg’s specialty are their pancake stacks. They’re known for their vast array of toppings and flavours, and at a very reasonable price. If you’re health conscious, they also do protein pancakes that taste delicious and can be accompanied by healthy toppings, such as strawberries, bananas, and nuts. The menu is fun and diverse, making it one of Dublin’s best brunch spots. Póg is open 9AM-5PM Monday, 9AM-7PM Tuesday-Saturday, and 10AM-5PM Sunday.
2. Square One, Sandyford
Not only do they do amazing coffee, which we talk about in this article here, Square One also prepare a mean brunch. They do all the classic brunch recipes while also adding a few more original plates, such as blueberry, lemon, and ricotta pancakes and grilled peach French toast. The café is light and spacious and is currently doing takeaway brunch and outdoor dining to continue serving during COVID restrictions. Square One does brunch between 10AM and 4PM.
3. Woodruff, Stepaside
This restaurant only opened a few weeks before COVID-19 forced Dublin into a lockdown; nevertheless it is a gorgeous spot for brunch. The way they plate their food is practically an art form and their recipes are both original and delicious. Try sharing the pancakes and having a savoury dish as well. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Woodruff is currently only doing takeaway on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, but keep an eye on their Instagram for news on when they’re reopening.
4. Alma, Portobello
A brunch spot with a sweet twist – Alma means soul in Spanish but is also the initials for the daughters in the family. Alma does a selection of Argentinian food using Irish produce. This makes it so much more than just the typical brunch spot. They do one of a kind dishes such as Choripan Argento, an Argentinian style of sausage on sourdough bread and Steak con Chimichurri, an exotic version of steak and eggs. Alma opens Monday-Sunday 9PM-4PM and is available for takeaway.
5. Eathos, Baggot Street
As the name would suggest, Eathos has a certain philosophy – they aim to make good and thoughtful food that makes their customers happy. They also incorporate international recipes in order to provide interesting and tasty dishes. Try their chorizo scramble or their artichoke shakshuka for a twist on a fan favourite. They are open 8AM-3PM Monday to Friday.
6. As One, City Quay
If you want a stunning place to eat, As One is one of Dublin’s best brunch spots. It overlooks the Liffey and provides recipes that are both homey and traditional. For something a bit more substantial, try the Beef Rigatoni. As One are currently doing takeaway brunch from 7:30AM to 3:30PM Monday-Friday and 10:30AM to 4:30PM on Saturdays.
7. Urbanity, Smithfield
This Nordic inspired brunch spot changes up their specials daily in order to provide a fresh taste for their customers. With quirky dishes such as grilled garlic halloumi and beetroot cured salmon, Urbanity stands as a cool place in Dublin to go for brunch. They also provide a good selection of food for vegetarians and vegans and clearly mark what is in each dish to avoid confusion. Urbanity has an outdoor area for sit-ins but also is available for takeaway. They open Monday-Friday 8AM to 3PM and 10AM to 4PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
8. Blas Café, Rotunda
Blas Café is a minimal but lovely spot for something to eat, whether that’s breakfast, lunch or something in between. This no frills café provides you with something familiar and sustaining, be that a toastie or some oats or just a bodega bap. It may not have a wide range of food but it won’t disappoint. They do breakfast Monday to Friday 10AM-12PM and 10AM-4PM on Saturdays.
9. Brother Hubbard, Capel Street
COVID or no COVID, Brother Hubbard is one of Dublin’s best brunch spots. They have a great outdoor seating area which makes them an ideal place to dine during lockdown restrictions. Their menu is extensive, with all the normal brunch beverages, such as tea and coffee, but also more celebratory drinks such as prosecco and wine. They also provide a great selection of sides, including halloumi, whiskey bacon, and eggs, all between 1.50-3.50 extra. They make a point of not providing traditional dishes, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this may not be the spot for you. Brother Hubbard does brunch until 3:30PM everyday.
10. Meet Me in the Morning, Pleasant Street
They are currently only doing takeaway, however, Meet Me in the Morning is the kind of brunch spot that is unique and definitely worth a visit. Monday-Friday they’re open 8AM-4PM and on Saturdays and Sunday they open at the slightly later hour of 8:30AM until 4PM. The eggs and greens dish is a bit eccentric but delicious, with its dressing of garlic yoghurt, paprika oil and curly parsley.
11. Platform 61, South William Street
With a menu that changes based on seasonality, Platform 61 remains fresh and hip as one of Dublin’s best brunch spots. They do traditional dishes such as Eggs Benedict and Huevos Rancheros, but they also do slightly different plates such as Shallot and Pea Ravioli and The Stun Bun, a grilled chicken sandwich served with guacamole and roast potatoes. Platform 61 are open for outdoor dining on South William Street.
12. Thundercut Alley, Smithfield
This Mexican themed restaurant adds a bit of spice to the regular ebb and flow of brunch. They do brunch tacos, filled with toppings such as scrambled egg, chilli beef, mushrooms, and feta cheese. They have all the classic meals too, such as Eggs Florentine and a Full Irish Breakfast, as well as more innovative and global meals such as a Souvlaki Salad, Jerk Sandwich and TCA Nachos. Thundercut Alley opens on Saturdays and Sundays for brunch at 11AM.
13. Two Boys Brew, Phisborough
If you’re hoping to brunch in North Dublin, chances are you’ve heard of Two Boys Brew. This little spot has tons of options that can be easily made vegan or vegetarian to fit everyone’s dietary requirements. Some of their most notable recipes include chilli eggs, harissa, tomato, and pumpkin beans and raspberry and ricotta hotcakes. If you want to alter your meal at all you can add in an array of sides, including halloumi sticks, avocado mint mash, and lemon garlic hummus. You can get brunch to go Wednesday to Friday 8AM-3PM.
14. White Moose Café, Phisborough
This café is known for its humour and great food. They have an extensive list of pancakes, if you’re someone who prefers sweet brunch over savoury. You can get toppings such as toasted marshmallows and nutella, berry compote and white chocolate sauce, and if you really want to indulge, brownie crumbs, caramel sauce and creme fraiche. They’re also affordable with the brunch items all under €13. White Moose Café is doing takeaway currently and is open 8AM to 3PM.
15. RIBA, Stillorgan
RIBA is an Italian restaurant in Stillorgan that is truly a lovely spot to have a meal. They have a terrace if you want to sit in and eat, or you can get an order for takeaway or delivery. However you’ll want to book a few days in advance to not be disappointed as this is one of Dublin’s best brunch spots. RIBA does weekend brunch from 10AM to 2PM.
16. Pigeon House, Clontarf
This brunch spot in Clontarf has a gorgeous garden terrace for outdoor dining during this lockdown time. They do amazing brunch boxes for takeaway, including an avocado box that comes with tomato salsa and a fried egg, and a chorizo box that comes with scrambled egg and spring onion. Pigeon House is open for outdoor dining or take away between 9AM and 4PM.
17. Evolve Eatery, Clondalkin
When you get onto the Evolve Eatery website, you’re met with the simple mantra of “meet, eat, evolve.” They have over 10 items on their menu for brunch, providing a diverse range of dishes for whatever you fancy, including protein pancakes and chicken and eggs benedict. They also have a wide selection of delicious smoothies. Evolve Eatery serves brunch between 9AM and 4PM.
18. Olive’s Rooms, Raheny
This spot is minimal but affordable. The most expensive meal on their breakfast menu is a tofu burrito (which is great for anyone who is vegan) at €7.90. They also do a fake “sausage” roll that is filled with mushrooms and cannellini beans instead of pork for the great price of €3.50. They’re currently only doing takeaway until COVID restrictions lessen but they are serving brunch 9AM to 3PM every day.
19. Le Petit Breton, Drumcondra
Le Petit Breton is a little artisan café that specialises in crepes and other classic French recipes. They do a selection of sweet crepes, with toppings such as salted caramel sauce, nutella, banana, and homemade chocolate spread, and savoury crepes, with toppings like goat’s cheese, bacon, black pudding, and spinach. A spot that could easily be missed, Le Petit Breton is one of Dublin’s best brunch spots, especially if you’re just looking for a small bite to eat. They open at 8AM every morning.
20. Gourmet Food Parlour, Santry
They do weekend brunch 10AM-5PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Gourmet Food Parlour are doing both outdoor dining and takeaway at the moment, with a wide range of options, including Belgian waffles, a vegan big breakfast and a range of salads, sandwiches and pastas. On their website they talk about the importance of flavour but also the importance of service and atmosphere, dedicating themselves to providing the best customer experience they can.
