Celebrating Cultures, Promoting Integration
We wake up day after day wanting a change, wanting prosperity but most importantly wanting happiness. For Some of us after awhile daily tasks like going to work or going shopping become dull and we all crave a holiday or change. While a holiday is a good change, it will only lead us back to our dull normal lives. What if I told you that there are some small alternatives that you can add to your life to greatly improve your health, concentration, mood and overall well being. Below are five methods that one could start using while reading the article.
Stretching Your Muscles
A good stretch in the morning can greatly improve your days productivity as well as alertness. Weather it is for one minute or ten minutes, a quick stretch in the morning can increase your blood flow, waking you up from your groggy state. A quick stretch loosens your muscles and tendons which relieves muscle fatigue. The stretching of muscles delays muscle fatigue in your body thus ensuring oxygen is flowing through your blood, effectively increasing your endurance.
Soak Up The Sun
When you’re feeling off take a moment to stop what you’re doing and go stand in the sun for a minute or two. I know at times sun is a rare commodity in Ireland but it offers a valuable resource for overall well being. Sunshine has the power to boost levels of serotonin – the body’s natural happy hormone. Standing in the sun on a regular basis can wear away depression if combined with these other techniques
Meditate On The Noises Around You
Many people get the misconception that meditation involves sitting with your legs crossed and forcing your brain to focus on nothing. Today I am going to tell you there is a much easier alternative that can greatly benefit your mood and concentration. When you find yourself feeling stressed or scatter brained take a second to close your eyes and focus on things like your breathing, music playing in the background, traffic, or birds chirping. It is ok if other thoughts enter your mind just make sure your concentration does not leave the noise you chose to focus on. After some practice you will find that a few moments of mediation should leave you feeling rejuvenated and refocused.
Don’t Forget To Smile 🙂
Nothing on this list is going to be easier to do than to smile. They say smiling is contagious and will benefit those that are around you. A simple smile has the power to lower stress and anxiety. It can instantly make you look a lot more attractive and trustworthy and ultimately make you a more approachable person. This can help you out on the job trying to clinch that sale or even at the pub making new friends. So put a smile on your face and make the world a better place!
Drink Plenty Of Water
One of the things that every living thing on earth needs is water. No matter if you’re a billionaire, a tree, or just barely getting by we all need water in order to survive. The water you drink today is currently flushing out the toxins in your body. It helps replenish the waste that leaves your body through sweat and urination. Water also helps boost circulation in your brain and can increase energy and concentration. By drinking up to 3 litres of water a day your body is functioning at its best putting you in a better mood and eventually improving your life.
